  • Check whether your router's firmware is outdated. If necessary, update it manually.
  • To update the firmware, connect the router and the computer using a standard Ethernet cable.
  • On your computer, open the default browser and navigate to the official Netgear site.
  • Enter your router's model number in the search panel and click the Downloads tab.
  • Locate the latest firmware version and click the Download button.
  • Once downloaded, open the Downloads folder and unzip the downloaded file.
  • Next, open the default browser again and enter the router's IP address in the URL field.
  • It will direct you to the Netgear router's login portal.
  • Enter the login credentials to access the router's settings page.
  • Click the Advanced tab and select Administration.
  • Click on Firmware Update and select Browse to choose your firmware file.
  • Once selected, click the Upload button and wait for the update to complete.
  • Do not turn off your router while updating the firmware.
  • Once the update is completed, your router will be restarted automatically.
