Step 1 - Reconnecting the interface cable

  • Remove the power cord from the Frontier router and the power source.
  • After an interval of thirty seconds, connect the power cord between them again.
  • Turn on the router and check if the issue has been solved.

Step 2 - Frontier router placement

  • Place the router and your modem in a central area.
  • Any obstacles like cordless phones or microwaves need to be placed far away from the router.
  • This will avoid signal interference.

Step 3 - Factory reset

  • Restoring the router to the default settings would resolve Frontier router problems.
  • To do so, locate the Reset button at the rear panel of the router.
  • Press this button and hold it for approximately ten seconds.
  • Note: You can use a pen or paper clip to press the Reset button.
  • Once the router is reset, configure the router again.

Step 4 - Firmware update

  • It is mandatory to update the firmware of the router to the most recent version.
  • To update the firmware, enter the router’s default IP address in the address bar of your web browser.
  • Use the router’s default username and password to access its web-based setup page.
  • Click the Advanced tab and then select the Firmware option on the left panel.
  • Click the Upgrade from Internet button on the main panel.
  • If prompted, select the Yes option to confirm.
  • This will upgrade the Frontier router’s firmware to the latest version automatically.
