Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to your modem’s rear port.
Plug in the Ethernet cable’s other end into the WAN port of the Edimax router.
Take another Ethernet cable and connect one of its ends to the LAN port of the router.
The Ethernet cable’s other end has to be plugged into the computer’s Ethernet port.
Launch a computer’s default browser.
Now, type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar and press the Enter key on the keyboard.
If prompted for login details, type admin in the User Name field. Enter 1234 in the Password field.
Click OK in the Authentication Required dialog box.
Now, you can access the Edimax router setup page.
Navigate to the Setup Wizard tab in the left panel.
In the main panel, select the Setup Wizard radio button. Click the Run Wizard button.
If you see any message prompting for connection, click the Next button to proceed.
Wait until you see the Please select your internet service type message on the screen.
Choose the Static IP option.
Note: You can even choose the Dynamic IP option from the Please select your internet service type drop-down menu.
Fill the following fields with valid details.
Click the Next option to proceed eith the Edimax router's setup.
Once you see the Internet is now connected message on the screen, select the Next option.
