D-link Dir-600m Wireless N150 Router Setup

Hardware Setup

  • Keep your router in an open area and make sure not to keep it in an enclosed space.
  • You need two Ethernet cables.
  • If you are using a modem for your computer, unplug all the wires from your computer and the modem and start setting up your router.
  • Plug one end of your Ethernet cable into your modem and plug the other end into the WAN port of the router.
  • Now, take another Ethernet cable.
  • Plug one end into the computer and another end into the LAN port.
  • Power on your modem and let it boot. It may take around 30 seconds.
  • Connect the power adapter between the router and the electrical socket.

  • Turn on your computer.

Configuring The D-link Dir-600m Wireless N150 Router Setup

  • Open a browser on your computer and enter the IP address of your router in the address bar. Then click Enter.
  • Log in by entering the user name as admin and leave the password field blank.
  • Click Internet Connection Setup Wizard and click Next.
  • Create a new password and click Next.
  • Choose your time zone and NTP-server and click Next.
  • If you select Dynamic, it prompts you to enter the MAC address of the computer which you used when you were directly connecting the modem to your computer. If you are using the same computer, click Clone Your PC’s MAC Address and click Next.
  • If you select PPPoE, enter your PPPoE username and password and click Next. Ensure to remove the PPPoE software from your computer as it will not work through a router.
  • In case you select L2TP, enter your L2TP username and password and click Next.
  • If you want to choose Static, enter the network settings given by your Internet service provider and click Next.
  • Click Connect to save your settings.
  • It takes around 2 minutes for the router to reboot.
