Method 1: Connecting to a wireless router using Sky+ HD box
To connect your Sky wireless connector to your wireless router using the Sky+ HD box, follow the steps given below.
Before making the connections, turn on your wireless router and make sure the Internet connection is available.
Now, plug the power cord into the blue colored power port at the rear end of your Sky wireless connector and turn it on.
Similarly, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the Sky wireless connector and the Sky+ HD box.
After making the connections, turn on your TV, which is connected to the Sky+ HD box.
When you turn on your TV, a message will be displayed on your TV. Press the Select button on your Sky+HD box remote control to enable the broadband service.
Within a few minutes, the available wireless networks will be displayed.
Use the up or down keys on the Sky+HD box remote control and select your wireless router by its name.
Then, press the Select button.
It will request you to enter the password of your wireless network.
Make use of the alphanumeric keys on the remotes control to enter the password. As the password is case sensitive, type it correctly. Then press the Select button.
The next screen will display the network configurations. This is the confirmation for the network connection.
Now, press the Back Up button to return.
Note: If the message is not displayed on your TV, then you have to Turn on the Broadband Network Connection on your Sky+HD box. To turn on the Broadband Network Connection, follow the sequence as given. Press the Services button on the Sky+HD box remote control. Then, press the Select button to select the Setup option, and then choose Customize. Now, move to the Broadband Network Connection option and turn it on using the right or left arrow button on the remote control. Then, press the Green colored button to save the changes.
Method 2: Connecting to a wireless router using a computer
You can connect your Sky Wireless connector to your wireless router using the web portal of your Sky Wireless connector. The steps are as follows.
Connect the Power cable into the power port on your Sky Wireless connector and turn it on.
Connect the Sky Wireless connector to your computer using an Ethernet cable.
Check whether your computer is connected to your wireless router and has an internet connection as well.
Launch a web browser on your computer.
Enter the default gateway or IP address of your Sky Wireless connector.
Then login with the username and password and click OK.
On the web portal, click on the Wireless option.
The Wireless Settings will search the available networks and will list them.
Click on your network, and then enter the password.
Then, enter the Connect button.
Now your Sky wireless connector will be connected to your wireless router.
Method 3: Connecting to the wireless router using the WPS button
Usually, most of the modern-day routers have a WPS button on them. This enables quick connection with other wireless devices that have WPS. Follow the below guidelines to quickly set up connect your Sky wireless connector to your wireless router.
Turn on your wireless router and Sky wireless connector.
Press the WPS button on your wireless router.
Then, push the WPS button on your Sky wireless connector. It is present at the front end of your wireless connector.
When the WPS button is pressed on your Sky wireless connector, the wireless symbol on it will flash in amber color. This means that the Sky wireless connector is making a connection with your router.
When the connection has been established, the wireless symbol will turn white.
