Connect your modem’s power cord to an electrical outlet. Use a coaxial cable for establishing the connection between the modem and wall outlet.
Plug your Buffalo router’s power cable into an electrical outlet. Use an Ethernet cable for establishing a connection between the router’s WAN port and the modem’s rear port.
Turn on the Wi-Fi feature on your computer.
Select the router’s network name and enter the password.
Note: You can get the wireless network information from the setup card (that is included with the router).
Open the Internet Explorer browser or any other browser on your computer.
To access the router’s page, enter the default IP address (192.168.11.1) in the address bar.
When the Windows Security prompt dialog box appears, type admin in the User Name field.
Enter the password in the Password field and then click OK.
It checks for the internet connection and you will see the Checking for Internet message on the screen.

Type a new network name for the router in the SSID (Network Name) field.
In the Encryption Key (Password) field, set a new network key.

When prompted, enter the new login details to access the router’s web interface page.

Turn on the Buffalo Airstation N600 DD-WRT router and your modem.
Establish a connection between the router and the modem using an Ethernet cable.
On your smartphone, enable the Wi-Fi feature.
Use the default SSID and network key for establishing a connection between the router and smartphone.
Open any browser application on the smartphone.
In the Authentication Required window, provide the router login details and tap Log In.
Wait until you see the Your Internet Connection was successfully established message.
Set a new network name and key in the SSID (Network Name) and Encryption Key (Password) fields.
Tap Apply -> Done.
Create a new router login information and then tap the Done option.
When prompted, enter the new login details in the appropriate fields and tap Log in.
Connect the smartphone to the router using the newly created SSID and key.
