Step 1: Physical Setup

Method 1: Wired Connection

  • Make sure that your modem, Asus router, and computer are turned off.
  • Now, connect your computer to the LAN port of your router using an Ethernet cable.
  • Using another Ethernet cable, connect the modem to the WAN port of your router.
  • Turn on the modem, router, and computer.
  • Make sure that the Internet and Power LEDs on your router’s control panel are blinking correctly.

Method 2: Wireless Connection

  • Make sure that your computer is placed within the range of the router.
  • Now, connect the modem to the router’s WAN port using a bundled cable.
  • Connect the modem and router to the AC outlet.
  • Install the WLAN adapter on your computer if it doesn’t support the Wi-Fi function.

Step 2: Web-based configuration

  • From your computer’s web browser, navigate to the router’s web access page using its IP address or URL.
  • Type the default credentials (username and password) of your router in the given fields and click on the Sign In button.
  • Your connection type will be detected automatically by the router and the corresponding page will appear on the screen.
  • For example, if your connection type is DHCP, the page titled Automatic IP connection type will open.
  • In the given fields, enter the Hostname and MAC address of your connection and click on the Next button.

  • For PPPoE, PPTP, and L2TP, type your connection’s user name and password in the given fields.
  • Make sure to enter the credentials correctly.
  • Click on the Next button after entering the credentials.

Connect Your Computer To The Wi-Fi Network 

  • On your computer’s taskbar, click on the Network icon.
  • Now, the SSID of the networks available within your computer’s range will be displayed on the screen.
  • Choose your Asus router’s network name.
  • Click on the Connect button.
  • If prompted, type your wireless network’s password in the given field and click on the OK button.
