Asus RT-N10 is a wireless three-in router powered by Broadcom BCM5356A1 @ 300 MHz chipset. This router provides better network coverage and is compatible with the IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless network standard. It has four LAN ports, one WAN port, and supports up to 4 guest SSIDs. Configuring the router for the first time is quite easy. Here you’ll find the quick and simple steps to perform the Asus RT-N10 router setup for the first time. Settings Up Router In Repeater, Router, & AP Modes
Connect your modem to the Asus RT-N10 router using an Ethernet cable.
Using another Ethernet cable, connect your computer to the router.
Make sure to connect the cable securely.
After connecting the network cable, connect the power cables to the router and modem.
Turn on the router, modem, and your computer.
Configuring Router Settings Using QIS Web Page
Open your computer’s default browser.
Now, the Asus router’s QIS page will launch automatically.
In case the page fails to launch, then turn off your browser’s proxy settings if enabled.
When prompted, choose the IP Sharing mode and click the OK button.
Generally, the router’s QIS page will detect your internet connection automatically. Configure the router settings by following the on-screen instructions.
Connect your modem to the wireless router (the main router) using an Ethernet cable.
Using another Ethernet cable, connect your Asus RT-N10 router to the computer.
Turn on your modem, router, and computer.
Enable the Wi-Fi feature on your Asus router.
The main drawback of using the router in Repeater mode is that services such as NAT, firewall, and IP sharing will be disabled.
Configuring Router Settings
Open a browser on your computer.
On the router’s QIS web page, choose the Repeater mode option.
From the list of AP wireless signals, choose the one that you wish to use.
Click on the Connect button.
Now, your Asus router will be connected to the main router.
Connect your Asus RT-N10 router to the main router using an Ethernet cable.
Link the computer to the router using another Ethernet cable.
Similarly, using another Ethernet cable, connect your main router to the modem.
Turn on all four devices (modem, main router, Asus router, and computer).
Make sure that all the LEDs on the main and Asus router are blinking.
Configuring The Router Settings
Launch your computer’s browser.
Choose the Access Point mode and click the Next button.
Now, the Wireless Settings window will open.
In the opened window, type your Wi-Fi network’s SSID, authentication and encryption methods.
Click the Finish button.
