Asus RT-AC1900u Router Setup & Configure

Position Your Router

Place your wireless router in a centralized area.
Do not keep the router nearer to any metal obstructions. Also, it must be kept away from direct sunlight.
To avoid signal interference, place the wireless router away from 2.4GHz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, transformers, heavy-duty motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and other industrial equipment.
Adjust the direction of the three detachable antennas.

Insert the AC adapter into the DC-IN port of the router and a power outlet.
Take another network cable and connect it between the router’s WAN port and your modem’s rear port.
Plug the AC adapter between the modem’s DC-IN port and a power outlet.
Make sure both the router and modem and powered up.
Carry out one of these methods for Asus RT-AC1900u router setup

Use a network cable for establishing a connection between the router’s LAN port and your computer’s Ethernet port.

Fill the Host Name and MAC Address fields with the correct information. Or else, you can simply leave these fields unfilled.
Click the Next button.

Type the details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the User Name and Password fields.

At the bottom of the screen, click the Next button and continue with the following steps to set up the Asus RT AC-1900U router.

Navigate to the Use the following IP address section.
Enter the valid details in the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway fields.
Go to the DNS Servers section.
Fill the DNS Server1 and DNS Server2 fields.
If necessary, fill the MAC Address field. Or else, click the MAC Clone button.
Once you click Next, proceed further for Asus RT-AC1900u router setup.

Navigate to the 2.4GHz - Security section, type a new SSID in the Network Name (SSID) field, and enter a new password in the Security Key field.
Likewise, fill in the Network Name (SSID) and Security Key fields in the 50GHz - Security section.
Click the Apply button.

When the Completed Network Configuration Summary screen opens, click the Next button.

You can now connect your computer or smart device to the router wirelessly as per the steps given below.
On your computer, navigate to the notification area and click the network icon.
Select your network name and click the Connect button.
Once you enter a security key, click the OK button.
Wait until the network icon shows the Connected status message.
