Check For Wired Connection

  • Disconnect all the interfaces cable from the Asus router, modem, and your device.
  • Connect the Asus router’s power cord to a power supply.
  • You have to connect an Ethernet cable between the LAN port of the router and the rear port of your computer.
  • Establish a connection between the WAN port of the Asus router and the Ethernet port of your modem.
  • Plug the modem’s power cord to the power source.
  • Make sure both the Power and Wi-Fi LEDs are lit.

Check For Wireless Connection

  • If you have connected the Asus router to the computer wirelessly, check if you have entered the correct wireless password.
  • If needed, change the network name (SSID) and network key (password) of the router.

Firmware Update

  • Access the Asus router’s web-based setup page using the login credentials, such as IP address, username, and password.
  • Click the Firmware Version link at the top of the screen to resolve Asus router can't connect to internet issue.
  • Alternatively, go to the Advanced Settings section and click the Administration option followed by the Firmware Upgrade option.
  • This will open the Firmware Upgrade page.
  • Navigate to the Firmware Version section.
  • If you see the ‘The router’s current firmware is the latest version’ message on the screen, the firmware is already up-to-date.
  • If you do not see this message on the screen, click the Check button followed by the Firmware Update button.
  • This will update the firmware of your Asus router to the latest version.

Restore To Factory Defaults

  • Return to the main page of the Asus router, click Administration -> Restore/Save/Upload Settings, and select the Restore option.
  • Click the OK option in the pop-up dialog box.
  • Once done, set up the Asus router again.
  • You can also reset the router by holding the Reset button for approximately 5 to 10 seconds. After that you cannot face Asus router can't connect to internet issue.
