If you cannot access the Internet on your device connected to an Arris router, carry out the following steps to resolve the Arris router connection issues.

Step 1 - Physical connection

  • First, check if the power cord is firmly connected between the rear port of the Arris router and the electrical outlet.
  • Check if the coaxial cable is properly connected between the router and the cable outlet.
  • Also, check if the Ethernet cable is connected correctly between the router and the Ethernet port of your computer.
  • If needed, disconnect all the cables and reconnect them and check the Arris router connection issues.

Step 2 - Power reset the Arris router

  • Turn off your computer and the Arris router.
  • Remove the power cable from the router and the power source.
  • Leave it for one minute and establish the connection again.
  • Check if the Power, Receive, Send, and Online LEDs on the router’s panel stays lit.
  • Turn on the computer and check if the connection problem has been resolved.
  • If the connection problem persists, continue with the following steps.

Step 3 - Factory reset the Arris router

  • Access the web-based setup page of the router using the IP address, username, and password.
  • Click the Configuration tab and click the Reset All Defaults button at the bottom of the screen.
  • If you see the ‘Do you want to proceed’ prompt message on the screen, select the OK option.
  • This will reset the router and this process might take up to a maximum of 30 minutes. After this completion chek the Arris router connection issues.

Step 4 - Power level

  • On the Arris router’s web-based setup page, click the Status tab.
  • Navigate to the Downstream section and check if the Power Level is set between -15 dBmV and +15 dBmV.
  • Go to the Signal to Noise Ratio field and check its value.
  • Navigate to the Upstream section and check the values in the Symbol Rate and Power Level fields.
  • Note: The values in both the downstream and upstream sections need to be within the acceptable range.
